Racegas in general tends to burn hotter than pump gas, so whilst it limits detonation it can cause extreme cylinder temperatures leading to a meltdown. This is what the ELF tech guys in NZ recommend anyway, on a "road" engine, run at 50:50, as pump gas burns cooler. : I meant to have more 100, but it ended up 50:50...so I guess it was ~96 octane, heh..
